Weekend.

Wow.

I think that's the best I can due to sum it all up briefly.

I colunteerd at SEAF for a few hours. I listened to Midori speak/lead a discussion. I think it was her mention of the bootblacking piece that made me want it even more. Went out Saturday night and say Kerry and Murray. Ended up seeing the Crushgirl, meeting a friends girlfriend who is seriously hot, meeting a guy that I think I want to know better but fear scaring off.

Sunday I got up at a decent hour even though I didn't get to bed til 3am. Went down to the festival again and purchased that boot piece. Played computer games for a bit, went back, picked the piece up, chatted with the artists that suggested that I email the womens party address and get blacking at the Wet Spot's women only parties. I think I will attend one first and then after that, see if I think I could manage blacking and not being too terribly nervous about it.

Chatted with m'love and passed the hell out.

Yeah, it was a good weekend.

Goodness me!

Monk had shiny boots for more than a couple hours.

Tammy looked delicious in her corset (Then again, when DOESN'T she look that way?)

Sev and Z, both lovely as ever.

Aynjel... Mmmm

And I have to admit, I even liked the way I looked tonight.

<3

It was good!

*clean*clean*clean*

I think the most relaxing thing about blacking and leather care, is once you're good at it, you can just sorta slip into a trance where your fingers know where they are and what they need next. If you've got everything you need around you, there's no reason to stop.

I sat down for a bit last night in front of the TV to clean a friends leathers. I swear I started and thought I would maybe get half way through and have to stop cause it's a bit of a large project. I took my time clipping loose threads (usually I burn them, but there's too much attached that would torch up just as easy that I thought it better to just snip instead) and then started in with a few clean rags to one side and the soft happy brush and the soap on my other.

Before I knew it, the whole thing was done. I just fell into a rhythm where I'd almost swear that the work was doing itself.

I love that.

Once a day, really...

I can do this!

Wednesday was another day at the Abbey, I managed to clean and condition two jackets and three pairs of boots? No shinys, but everything needed heavy conditioning rather than a shine, next time there will be shiny.

I also ended up with two nice pieces of leather to both clean and condition and the question of 'what about not-black leather?' came up too. Yes, I can do non-bloack, I can do any color, that's what neutral is for!

I also got a tip on removing those damn white scuffs from someone on the bootblack forum. Must try it out and report. I think it was Griffin's boots that had the scuffies. Monk's are just thrashed for lots and lots of motorcycle use. Poor abused boots. ;)

My, my, my...

I was actually having somewhat deep intellegent conversation with a random stranger form a BDSM personals site. I was begining to think that would never happen again! He managed to prove me wrong about two hours in by starting with the 'I'd love to stuff my dick in your mouth' type comments. When I finally blocked him from contacting me on both the site and the messenger, he created a second login on the site to mail me and let me know he was no longer interested in me and I was officially rejected, he also included a picture of his dick. Maybe trying to show me what I was going to miss (Not much...) which then inspired a new section on my webpage. Ahem. I swear I'm a good girl...

Anyhow, I've been slacking in my 'daily updates' they haven't been exactly daily. It's already Wednesday again. Tonight is blacking night, yay! I really hope this does end up being a fairly regular thing. I like getting out of the house, being around friends and getting to do boots. Just blacking makes me smile and relaxes me. Once I get the bootbox done, it also won't make me quite so achey. I also like the Abbey, just being there, cool people, neat space.

Very good for my head. :)

Lazy weekend...

ON Saturday, I wen to the WetSpot's Vendor fair. It was... pretty disappointing really. There wasn't anything there that really interested me at all. At least it was a chance to see Michelle. I didn't go to the party that night, and as much as I wanted to go to the Bondage party tonight, I just don't have the energy. Ah well.

I've slacked all weekend and enjoyed the little things, like my boyfriends voice on the phone. :) And that's the stuff that matters.

Stuff for the blacking kit

Now that I'm back to blacking again, I've realized just how much I missed doing it (and just how sore it makes my hands, hand massage anyone?) I tend to black for friends for free at this point, and in the past they've often asked what they could do in exchange since I won't take money. Here's the list so far... if you can think of anythigg else to add, drop in a comment, please! I'm thinking of low cost/free items that can go in my kit.

-Old (clean) towels/wash rags
-soft 100% cotton flannel squares (Archie McPhee's sells a set of 4 real cheap, they're perfect)
-Large cans of Kiwi polish in black or neutral (Or tips on where I can get them)
-Cans of Lincoln polish in black or neutral
-Small cans of Kiwi/lincoln polish in colors other than black and neutral
-Old ass beat up leathers that you or someone else plan to get rid of.
-Old toothbrushes you plan on throwing away
-Fun/interesting/pervy stickers for my currently undecorated bootblack box
-One of those little crappy screwdrivers with the magnet on the end so I can open the damn cans of lincoln polish (grr)
-A bigger box for my blacking stuff!
-Lighters in cute shapes or with amusing things on them
-white and yellow grease pencils
-smallish tin cup with handle like mess kit style (I should only need one)
-soft shaving cream brush
-old t-shirts! (for boot rags)
